SPENT

Written by Nikoletta Soumelidis / Directed by Helen Cunningham

90min play - Last performed March 2025 at The Old Red Lion Theatre

“For a taste of your torture I would die a thousand deaths, for it is you, who makes me feel alive”

A and B are at a crossroads in their relationship – do they stay together, or do they separate? As we follow them through the ruins of their past, we explore how a loving relationship can grow into something more sinister. Who’s at fault? Who’s suffering more? And most worryingly, who’s got all the power?

The show was performed by two actors alternating roles between shows.

Reception & Further Development

After two critically acclaimed, sold-out runs at the Old Red Lion Theatre and Baron’s Court Theatre, SPENT secured full ACE funding for further development in 2026, expanding to a four-person cast alternating roles — including same-sex couples.
